4 Funny Female-Centric Web Series to Watch

One of the awesomest things about publishing FnS is that the funny often comes to me. We have recently had several web series sent in by show producers and publicists. Here are 4 of my favorites, I think you will like them, too.

Words With Girls

Brittani Nichols, the creator of Words With Girls submitted a comedy web series featuring herself and Hannah Hart of My Drunk Kitchen fame.  This mostly scripted but part-improv comedy webseries focuses on 20-somethings in Los Angeles. When they’re not busy navigating “the scene” or jumpstarting their careers, these women do what the young, gifted and bored do best: shoot the shit.

Webisoder at Lively Productions, Elaine White,  submitted Blogologues. The series concept is performing material found on the internet. They just happened to have re-inacted one of my all-time favorite humor posts on the planet, It’s Decorative Gourd Season, Motherf**kers from McSweeney’s. I hope they will pick a FnS post soon. I think Open Letter to The Creative Group would be fabulous (subtle hint).

Audrey stars Kim Shaw (from MTV’s “I Just Want My Pants Back”) and Arielle Kebbel (from “The Vampire Diaries”), and is sort of a cross between Sex and the City and Julie & Julia.

Sitting on Babies – Meet the Babysitters

Sitting on Babies was sent in by co-creator and star, Becky Whittemore. The series produced with Brooke Jacob was featured on the homepage of Funny or Die, and I hope to see more episodes soon. FYI, Becky was one of the feet in our old Footastic Theatre – The Blues Brothers ep!

PS. one of my January goals is to get cracking on our FnS web series page and make it dynamic, so feel free to send in series to be considered.

Jacki Schklar is publisher of the women’s comedy site funnynotslutty.com and comedyrants.com. She works in media production, marketing and social media. Everyone tells her she should do standup or open a restaurant, neither of which appeals to her. http://www.facebook.com/FnSComedy

  1. Blogologues is hilar! I, too, love the Gourd Season piece and they KILLED it. I would also suggest Awkward Black Girl. It brings the LOLz.
