With Valentine’s Day now upon us, there is only one thing we single ladies can do: shudder at our regrettable sexual lovers. All. Of. Them.
It’s okay. We all have our past sexual anguishes. No judgment. Revel in your past drunken stupidity, by drinking even more. It’s a vicious cycle really, but it’s the only way mistakes are made.
So grab a bottle of three-dollar wine, order that free Papa John’s pizza you won from the Super Bowl coin-toss, and commiserate with the ladies of MVPleez about letting that scab kiss your boobs. Repeatedly.
And cry. You should probably cry, too. Like, a lot.
MVPleez is Monica West and Valentine Bureau. Two ladies from NYC who turn their every day lives into music videos. Because, well, why wouldn’t you?

Slutty but Funny
Natalie Wall likes to think she is a female comedian but the reality is she’s a NYC girl trying to make it big. If she’s not writing in her blog, Awkward Sex and the City, she’s spraying vanilla icing on a mini donut or thinking of ways to kill Dora from Dora the Explorer. Help her, humor her and fall in love with the pale pasty princess straight out of Compton (not really).
Meet Chloe (creator, writer, actor and sometimes director) + Zoe ( Actor, and sometimes writer). These two ladies are going to be your besties for the next 3-to-7 minutes. Why, you ask? Because they are awkwardly awesome.
Is it just me or is this era of the 20-something ladies, trying to get their shit together, but not really actively getting their shit together (the characters they portray, that is)? I sure as hell hope so.
Chloe and Zoe, let me just say, you two are pioneers, making a path for all other awkwardly hilarious 20-something-ers to embrace the funny. Expect to acquire many a lady fans, and hearing the phrase, “Oh these chick’s get just me,” on multiple occasions in the future. [Read more...]
Well, maybe not solely for you. But maybe, especially if you are industry folk, then Buttski & Glasscock, (along with an array of hilarious character comedians), are definitely getting on the stage specifically for you.
Any who, Funny Not Slutty is proud to announce that our lovely, Miss Jenn Dodd, shall be performing her monthly show, “Buttski and Glasscock New Talent Blow Out,” this Friday, February 8th, at 9:30 p.m at The People’s Improv Theater located in New York City.
For those of you that don’t know, few things:

Ever wanted to meet OkCupid.com? Or Jezebel.com, per chance? Well, don’t worry ladies (and the three gentlemen that peruse this site), now you can. Welcome to the genius that is, “If Websites Were People.” It’s eerie how on point these webisodes are. Watch, laugh and pray to fucking god you are not one of these websites. But let’s get real, you probably are.
Single during the holidays, ladies (and gents)?
Let’s get real for a hot sec, that’s the best way to do it. Asides from those Kay Jeweler commercials making you feeling inadequate as a human of the female (and/or male) population, or your mother constantly asking you if you are a lesbian in public bathrooms, oooooorrrrrr having every one of your siblings (and their significant others) give you the, “Ahhhhh, she had so much potential when she was younger…and then her hair turned that icky shade of brown,” stare, it’s really not that bad at all!
You have to remember that when you do not have a significant other, you don’t have to worry about anyone else but yourself. Is that selfish? Abso-fucking-lutely.
But god dammit does it feel all warm and tingly inside! (It really does. I’m doing it right now.) Haven’t convinced you yet? Don’t worry. I will.
I don’t like eating in front of guys I’m dating (and/or sleeping with). It’s not pretty. It consists of talking with my mouth full, dollops of mayo and some lewd attempts at sexual gestures with meat in my hands. Sexual, I know. Yet it seems to have little to no avail on actually upping my sex appeal. People really don’t seem to want to boink the lady with a vat of Hellman’s mayo close at hand.

The internets have done it again, gentleladies! And by the internets I mean, Sheetal Sheth, Michelle Krusiec and Lynn Chen along with writer Christine Kwon have combined forces to create what quite possibly might be the next new web-series addiction. Join the NICE GIRL CREW as they embark on the dreaded hell of a book club…amongst friends. Where we learn very quickly that discussing literature with your childhood bffffffff’s ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. But it’s damn effin’ hilarious to watch!

Did this slutty but funny lady finally put on her big girl panties this week? Why yes, yes she did.
There’s nothing like a good ol’ heartbreak to force you to get your shit back together and focus, and for me it has resulted in being appointed the associate editor at this lovely web site. Some of you call it “Funny not Slutty,” I call it Mecca.
Two years ago, Funny not Slutty publisher Jacki Schklar told me I had a gift and real talent when it came to writing. She told me this in a moment when I really really needed to hear that; nothing like adult braces and living with your parents after graduation for a year to make you slightly depressed and question all your aspirations and goals in life.
And let’s be real, your parents can only tell you that, “you are their favorite little humor writer,” for so long.
She trusted me so much that Jacki gave me a chance to spread my writing wings with my very own column, aptly named “Slutty but Funny”, where per usual I was constantly late with deadlines, posts and story ideas….and still am.
Yet, here I am two years later, and Jacki still trusts me. Why? I have no fucking clue, she probably shouldn’t. But don’t tell Jacki I said that.
She again, came to me in a moment when I needed someone the most. Someone to tell me that I was making the right choice in not choosing the typical 9-5 job that would result in no time to write, someone to tell me that basically throwing away my college degree and following my gut was the right thing to do.
She did the greatest thing ever and asked if I wanted to be “Funny not Slutty’s” Associate Editor, in which I responded in the classiest of classy ways, “Fuck yes!”
My only hope as your Associate Editor, is that I can help deliver the best female comedy website to you …while still being slightly slutty.
But don’t worry, I got the “being slightly slutty” part in the bag! Now let’s do some funny shit.

Want to be philosophical, schwasted, and corny as hell while violating a (dead) chicken with a beer can? Yeah, I didn’t think so. I’m pretty sure tampering with a dead animal carcass is illegal in most states. So why not live vicariously through Hannah via “My Drunk Kitchen” and watch her drunkenly stumble (with her thoughts and actual body) through her one-lady cooking webisodes?
Will you actually learn how to cook? Absolutely. Will the food be good? Absolutely not. But cooking is more about the experience than the actual outcome of the food (which is why God created Taco Bell), and Hannah is ready and willing to demonstrate that the best type of experience is always a drunk experience.

Lena Dunham, I love you.
(For those of you who don’t know who Lena Dunham is, she is a genius that at the mere age of 26 has written, produced, acted AND directed the critically acclaimed HBO series “Girls.” And if you really didn’t know who Lena was, I’m going to stop typing now, and find you, and force feed you lard. It’s the only solution to your shortcomings.)
Any who, back to you, Lena. My sweet little dove you. You make me feel content (and slightly proud?) of my current eating and personal hygiene habits.
Let those hata’s hate. They are just jealous of your ridiculous talent and ability to shove four cupcakes in your mouth at once.
Believe me, I’ve lost many a friends because of that stunning feat. It’s sad really but the inability to overeat is and will always be a sore subject for many.
But hey, we are all human. We all have our short comings. I can’t do my 11 times table without two fingers and an iPhone calculator. I have a feeling you and I have that in common.
But let’s get back to your awesomeness. You’re awesome. Well actually, you are cool and all, but now that I think about it, I think I’m in love with your character Hannah, and not you….soooooo this is going to get a little awkward. [Read more...]
